Southwest Bio-Labs, Inc (SBL) is a contract research organization serving animal health, agrochemical and human pharmaceutical companies for over 18 years. SBL specializes in conducting controlled scientific studies of drugs and pesticides intended for use in food animals, companion animals and humans. These studies are required by governmental organizations (such as the FDA, EPA and the OECD) to evaluate the safety and efficacy of new drugs and pesticides and novel delivery systems for existing drugs and pesticides. SBL occupies a unique niche in the contract research industry due to its combination of expertise in working with large and small animals coupled with its analytical expertise and capabilities.

Quality Assurance

SBL is committed to generating quality data in accordance with applicable Good Laboratory Practice Regulations.  As such, SBL maintains a full time quality assurance group whose members belong to the Society of Quality Assurance and regularly attend regional and national meetings

 

 

Chili Testing

Being located in the heart of the famous "Hatch Valley Chile" growing region, SBL also provides complete analytical testing of chile peppers and chile pepper products. All of our testing complies with American Spice Trade Association (ASTA) methods and includes pungency analyses, microbiological assays, color testing, moisture analysis and filth inspections. Our clientele represent a broad spectrum of businesses nationwide with diverse applications of chile pepper products. SBL offers over 20 years of experience in the chile pepper analysis field and we are located just 40 miles north of the major international border crossings at El Paso, TX and Santa Teresa, NM.

 

 

Personnel

SBL is staffed by a variety of experienced scientists including Ph.D, Master's and Bachelor's level animal scientists, biochemists and chemists. SBL also has a full time veterinary staff experienced in food, companion and laboratory animal species.
